Create a wifi spot to share the Internet connection it’s easy. All you need is an Internet connection, a wireless antenna to send signal, a laptop (dekstop pc) and Connectify software that works with windows 7 and it’s free. Connectify allows you to create a Wi-Fi protected hotspot and use it to connect all devices with their air cards.You can also quickly create connections between only two devices (Ad-hoc mode,your PC and another device).

How to make a wifi spot:
-download Connectify, install, and run it. It will create an icon in the taskbar at the bottom right next to the clock of Windows. A simple left click on this icon will give access to the main screen.
-Fill in the data form to create your wifi spot.
–Wi-Fi Name: Enter the name of the network;
–Passphrase: Enter a password network (minimum 8 characters for a maximum of 63);
–Internet: Select the connection which the computer normally connects to the Internet (your Dsl for example);
–Mode: Select Access Point, WPA2-PSk

Now click on the “start Hotspot” button to start wifi. Ater a few second the status will pass from “off” to “runningmode”. You can now connect other devices to internet wifi spot using air cards. In the “connected clients” section you can find Ip address of all devices connected to the network; Similarly, in “Disconnected Clients “, you will find devices address connected during the past.There is also the possibility to assign an icon for each device, simply selecting the item list and click “Set Icon menu” with your right mouse button.

Connectify doesn’t work with these air cards: Belkin F5D7050UK, Belkin Wireless G MIMO devices (as of version 3.1.2.0), D-Link AirPlus G DWL-G122, Gigabyte GA-WPKG 802.11g, Intel 3945/4965,2200BG (most Intel cards), Mac Book Builtin Broadcom devices, Realtek RTL8187 (like in older 802.11bg USB dongles), Zydas ZD1211 (also in 802.11bg USB dongles).

After months of fervent planning and waiting by the increasing number of Foneros, the community dedicated to wireless connectivity created by the Spanish social FON gives now a welcome to the new entry of La Fonera 2.0,n the new router’s wireless, enhanced by increasingly broad compatibility with many web based services and with usb 3g air cards support. In the meantime, there has been considerable interest in the agreement between WeFi Fring and aiming to make the search for a hotspot to connect to open a real snap. All this, in the name of social-mobile connectivity.

Waiting to know if its use IS IMMUNE OR NOT from a legal standpoint, the new spanish router arrives on the European market at a price decidedly competitive: 59 euros for the new router enriched by a new firmware (2.2.5.0 flipper enduser) and new, interesting feature. The most interesting is undoubtedly the addition of support for popular USB air cards offering connectivity with 3G: With this feature you can then connect the router to air cards to spread via wireless connectivity to other devices.

Equipped with a LAN access more than in previous La Fonera 2.0 supports the 802.11 b/g/n wireless protocol provides full native compatibility with the most popular social networking services and file sharing: from YouTube to Facebook, from Flickr to Picasa, via BitTorrent , RapidShare and MegaUpload, not forgetting the chance to share with other computer scanners and printers. But FON is not only this: the feature that has most contributed the rise of Spanish in all likelihood is the revolutionary idea of shared social network.

La Fonera shares in two parts connectivity provided by the ISP: from one side the encrypted part (for the premises of the user), other side than one making available to the community, which may benefit from free (for registered service) or payment. In the latter case, the revenue generated will be divided equally between those who provides the bandwidth and the Spanish company.

Still in the field of wireless connectivity, it is expected the users would benefit with the partnership signed between Fring, one of the most widely used multi-platform IM client and WeFi service that maps all free hotspots in the area. Marriage between the two gave birth to a free plugin for the client Fring allows you to search for access points using (if any) the internal GPS to your mobile device or through the inclusion of its position on the map. At the time, according to Fring’s website, the plugin is only available for all devices with Symbian OS or Windows Mobile: It is not known at this time whether this is an update to the ever-growing user community with iPhone.

According to WeFi, there are already over 20 million hotspots accessible free of charge by the community of users using Fring, a number that should not be underestimated, since in many countries, mobile telephone providers do not seem to provide cheap solutions in the field of connectivity to the Web using the 3G network both for mobile and for laptop with air cards. “WeFi represents an exciting new opportunity for our selection of add-ons made for Fring, because it allows us to locate and access thousands of free hotspots all over the world in a very simple way, making the mobile web experience even more attractive for those who prefer the quality of the WiFi at no cost”, said Avi Shechter, CEO of Fring.

Duration of the online sessions, IP addresses of all those who catch connectivity from any supplier of the band, adresses kept for two years to support any investigation conducted by law enforcement.
This is because two draft laws in the United States are being simultaneously submitted to the House and Senate. The bills could virtually require home wifi users, so stop to all air cards wifi hunting.

The proposals, S 436 and HR 1076, identified by the name of the Internet Stopping Adults Facilitating the Exploitation of Today’s Youth Act (SAFETY Act Internet) have been introduced by Senator John Cornyn and representative Lamar Smith: both provide tougher sentences for anyone to access child pornography online, and new responsibilities for those who facilitate the movement of this material.
By providers of online storage up to email service providers, all risk administrative penalties and up to 10 years in prison if “you should have knowingly in conduct that they know or have reason to believe that it can facilitate access to or possession of child pornography.” The responsibility of content online exchange could fall directly on service providers rather than playing a role as mere intermediaries, they could have to monitor the communications of users they serve.

But the liability of network intermediaries are not limited to the movement of content on platforms, to be involved are also providers of connectivity services. Both draft laws provide that anyone who offers citizens the opportunity to connect in a network trace for a period of two years the IP addresses assigned to Netizen that will leverage their service. “A provider of an electronic communications service and remote computing services - so say the texts of both draft laws - must keep for at least two years all records or other information on the identity of a user which is temporarily assigned a network address. “

Internet wireless café and providers, institutions and private citizens as well as in the case of the previous Securing Adolescents From Exploitation-Online Act (SAFE Act), a bill introduced in 2007, to be involved are those which may be deemed “providers of services electronic communication “or “providers of remote computing services. ” Given the vagueness with which you delivered the text of the proposed legislation, given the wide range of actors who could invest, those who possessed a router and wish to ensure open connectivity would be to act as provider, would be invested in the same burdens and responsibilities. For example if is someone using a private wifi connection, using a laptop and an air cards, committing an illegal act, the owner of that net are responsible and potentially prosecuted by law.

As for the telephone operators, they will keep track of everything that happens with the mediation of computer they provide. Data should be revealed to law enforcement agencies who request them, as part of the unraveling of an investigation. “If we ask to the phone companies to retain same type of information - say the representative Smith – there is no reason why the law should not be extended to ask ISPs to behave the same way.” “Operators of the police, claimed Smith, should have the tools they need to fight crime, whether it was committed with the use of the phone, whether it was committed online“.
At this point we expect to see policemen equipped with laptop, air cards and pistols ready to look for open wifi to arrest then the owner.

“If Internet has created many changes in the way which we communicate and do business – said Senator Cornyn – its unregulated nature offers anonymity that opened the door to criminals who try to harm innocent children.” Collaboration to ensure a happy life to a child, said Cornyn, must move from local responsibility, state, federal and family. And by the authorities as well as by private individuals who may take the enforcement of laws and the responsibility to collect and store information on citizens. Information stored without any protection, stored in databases that citizens may be unable to manage, that may be unable to ensure protection from indiscreet eyes. Guys who go outside for open wifi, it’s better that you put away your air cards, you are advised.

Armed with laptop, smartphones and air cards they go for the streets of Mumbai in search of unprotected WiFi networks: Crime mediated by technology will not survive from the patrol, which will involve the police of the indian cities.

People of Mumbai should not lend its technological resources to the cause of crime beacuse the lead protagonist of attacks that have bloodied the capital recently used a wide deployment of technology, the messages of terror are often carried by networks and the are not adequately protected.
Mumbai police are now mobilizing themself to close the connectivity taps left open from individuals, businesses and institutions.
There are 80 agents ready to patrol the streets of Mumbai: trained by security experts, have learned to detect open WiFi networks using laptops, smartphones with every kind of air cards. They will soon be invested with the mission to close all the glimpses of connectivity recklessly made available.

India already has taken security measures to prevent the use of the not identifiable Internet: many Indian states have introduced the requirement to register with documents register citizens who use Internet in order to prevent that the Netcafe be exploited for purposes that are outside the law, Mumbai had predicted that the public Internet workstations must be equipped with systems that allow the police to monitor the online life of users and to reconstruct the navigation paths followed. If the Internet café does not offer a bad basis on which to build their strategies, private individuals, institutions and companies continue to provide bandwidth and anonymity to those who think of use the network as a tool to break the law.

For this reason, the police provide notifications and require passwords to anyone innervated the metropolis of connectivity. “Our men, equipped with laptops, air cards and mobile phones, will make random checks in shopping malls, cinemas and the areas occupied by offices – said a representative of local law enforcement – if they identify a connection not protected they contact you warning that your network could be used by criminals. ”
But India will not only raise awareness of the connectivity by cutting open nets. The security forces are preparing to infiltrate inside criminal organizations using the new version of the local law against cyber-crime. If they are softened the penalties for those who are guilty of crimes mediated by technology, is also given them by law the ability to monitor all communications that running online.
